If someone asked me what time of year I like the most, I would definitely say spring! I love this time when the greenery is intense, the flowers bloom and after a cold winter, you can enjoy the long days and warm rays of the sun again. The most magical moment for me is when suddenly new leaves begin to grow and everything changes in the blink of an eye. Just when the flowers started to bloom and the forests slowly became green, we went to the spring weekend to Ustroń, Poland.
Ustroń, a health resort town in southern Poland
Ustroń is a health resort town in southern Poland which lies in the Silesian Beskids mountain range. It is a popular place for a day or weekend trips from the cities of Upper Silesia such as Katowice, Gliwice, and others. People usually come to Ustroń to hiking in the nearby mountains such as Równica and Czantoria, to relax on the banks of the Vistula River or to try mineral water from the sources located here. This water has healing properties, therefore in Ustroń, there are many sanatoria and spa centers.
We came to Ustroń for the weekend mainly to spend this time with our friends, because we have planned to go somewhere together for a long time. At first, I did not plan to write about this trip on the blog, but just in case I took a camera with me. During my stay in Ustroń, however, I did a few spring photos, which I really wanted to show you.
Our spring weekend in Ustroń, Poland
On the first day, we came to Ustroń with our friends, we found accommodation with a beautiful view of the nearby Czantoria mountain and we made a barbecue. The evening was still a bit cold, but we all had a nice time.
The next morning we went to the top of Równica mountain to admire the beautiful panorama of the Silesian Beskids, then we ate a delicious meal in one of the restaurants and rested on the banks of the Vistula River. The weather was really beautiful, the sun was shining and the flowers on the trees were blooming in white and pink. When we rested, we went to look for famous sources of mineral water. That’s how we find a spring Źródło Karola that was hidden in the forest. If you will ever be in Ustroń, be sure to go there and drink crystal clear water.
On the day of our departure, we decided to go to the top of Czantoria Mountain, which we could admire throughout the weekend from the window of our room. First, we took the cable car, and then we walked for 30 minutes until we reached the top of the mountain. We decided to go a little further and cross the Polish-Czech border, which runs through Czantoria. In the Czech buffet, which used to be a mountain hostel, we tried the garlic soup and other regional delicacies.
A trip to Czantoria was the perfect ending to this spring weekend. Although we never planned to spend a few days in Ustroń, because it is quite close to our city and usually we only went there for one day, it was a really nice opportunity to spend some time with friends and see what the spring in the Silesian Beskid looks like. It was a really nice time.

I was not familiar with this area, but it absolutely lovely! The area where I live in the US has had a really long winter, so seeing all the flowering trees really raised my spirits!
It’s like in Poland. Winters are really long here and I am always very happy when the first flowers appear and spring is coming. That means that this beautiful half of the year started.
I would never have imagined a health resort town in Poland. Thanks to you, I have a new addition to my bucket list.
I am happy that I could show you a piece of my country 🙂
I will definitely add it to my bucket list. Never thought that Poland can be so interesting. I love weekend trips so it’s definitely for me, thanks!
In that case, I recommend the Beskid Żywiecki mountains nearby, there is even more beautiful.
Very beautiful scenery! We would love camping and hiking here. This is a nice place to get away from the chaos of the city. 🙂
Unfortunately, on weekends it’s a bit crowded, for peace and nature I recommend the Beskid Żywiecki mountains nearby.
I’ve yet to visit Poland, but would love to some day. I think springtime there seems so beautiful, and much warmer too! Garlic soup sounds delicious, though my partner wouldn’t say so, he hates it!
Poland is beautiful in spring, especially the mountains. Go to the Tatras to see blooming crocuses, you will not regret it.
The views look absolutely incredible, it’s amazing how little you know of a country from the outside – I would never have guessed Poland to have lush green scenery like this. I can imagine you could feel the uttermost relaxation while on this break and great to spend it with your friends 🙂
Poland is still a little bit undiscovered country in Europe. There are many beautiful places here, however.
This definitely seems like a beautiful and peaceful area. I could easily recover from the long harsh winter in that wonderful environment. This would definitely be a great camping and hiking area. Great photos too.
Unfortunately at weekends this place is a bit crowded. However, the spring is really beautiful here.
This resort looks lovely! I’ve never been to Poland or yo a health resort but after reading this would like to give both a try. Glad you enjoyed your stay!
In that case, you have to visit Poland, there are many beautiful things to see 🙂
One of my friend`s wife is Polish and she keeps telling us to come to Poland. It looks like a wonderland, on my bucket list. barbeque in the Czantoria mountain area sounds pretty cool, would love to try it out. Do have an idea how winters will be in this area?
In winter, it is very nice, but if you want something less crowded I recommend the Beskid Żywiecki mountains nearby.
Oh, spring there is so lovely. I cannot wait when it comes here. I live in Finland and we just recently had snow melted.
I have never been to Finland and I would love to see. Greetings!
Amazing! I really love the cherry blossom! I’m visiting Poland soon, although I’m not going to this area. Will remember this in case I have some time to spare!
It’s a nice place but I understand that there are more interesting attractions in Poland. Especially when you are here for only a few days or weeks.
i have been never gone there, but next month we all planning to go there so we wanted to know about place and your article helped me a lot to understand the places. Your taken images proved that you enjoyed your trip a lot. Wish me luck for trip.
